March 2017 Wrap up

Welcome Spring!

I love March as the days are longer, the flowers start coming out, it is warmer and you can feel Spring in the air!
From a books point of view it has been a so and so month, a superb read, a very good one and some three stars ones. Here it goes:

L'eredita' - L. Gruber
A very interesting memoir of a region's, South Tirol, and the writer/journalist's family's history.
Rating:  7 out of 10

Between the world and me - N. Coates
A long letter from a father to a son about being black in the USA. Interesting but not quite what I was expecting.
Rating:  6 out of 10

How to find love in a bookshop - V. Henry
Lighthearted, cozy, pleasant novel about loss and hope, all set in a very inviting bookshop. Nice.
Rating:  6.5 out of 10

Quota 33 - R. Gallego
The great and the bad of the Italian Procura, very detailed, difficult to decide what genre it belongs to. I really enjoyed it.
Rating:  6.5 out of 10

The tie that binds - K. Haruf
Haruf's first novel, set in hardworking Holt County, loved it for its strong values, friendship, hard way of life. Sad yet hopeful.
Rating:  8.5 out of 10

The girl from the Savoy - H. Gaynor
A really pleasant read; the plot is not very original, yet the writing style and the setting is very captivating. A nice, heartwarming read.
Rating:  8 out 10

Did you ever have a family? - M Clegg
Abandoned! Not the right moment for the book maybe? I just couldn't get into the story at all.

After the crash - M. Bussi
My first French mystery novel, I did not like it, strange, slow, unrealistic.
Rating:  5 out of 10
